Public school was a good fit for them, but I wonder now, if I had a choice for their education, how I would have been able to balance their life better. How I would have been able to schedule their time to better fit their individual needs instead of bunching everything together. With my daughter she always pushed herself, she wanted to challenge herself, she would go ask the questions and see what the next steps were.
My son was like if they aren’t going to ask they must not care and I must be doing ok. I wouldn’t get a call and his grades were good so I didn’t really motivate him. I feel like if I had a choice for him a smaller school would have been a better fit. He would have felt more a part of the school instead of a small piece. He needed that little push and he breezed by because no one was there to push. He had the potential, he was capable, he has shown that by doing great now, but what if I had a choice for him then?
Parents you have a CHOICE don’t let your child breeze by.
Our children learn so many different ways. They have different attitudes and learning techniques, what works for one is a failure for another. I have learned over the years that children love to learn. They are eager to grasp new skills and willing to build from that, but it’s up to us to find the correct method to teach them. Take the time to watch, listen and most importantly to encourage them to learn in the teaching environment that is best for them.
It’s our CHOICE that make a difference in their future.
