And as a huge part of my time in Governor Daniels’ office was spent working to pass and fund Full Day Kindergarten, I am also proud to share that my own son spent this school year in full day K in a charter school. He is a fantastic reader, and has a natural love of math. We are exploring all types of schools for his future, now fully understanding that for our family, the school type has nothing to do with finding the best classroom and teachers to fit his strengths and challenges and our values. Our younger son is not yet 2, but I am certain we will take the same, individualized approach to finding the right school for him when it is time. And we are grateful for the options afforded to our family in all education sectors.
